Memorial and Gifting Policy

The Clinton County Conservation Foundation (CCCF) values and appreciates the support of individuals who seek to continue to support the CCCF’s mission through memorial contributions made through their wills, wishes, and gifts. The Clinton County Conservation Foundation does have the right to refuse any donation that it deems not in accordance with the guidelines, mission, and or ability for the foundation to utilize in an appropriate manner. These contributions will be used to help enhance our existing programs, facilities, and services. Depending on the size and scope of projects that are in progress at that time, these funds may be pooled with other available funds to help accomplish the goals and needs of the CCCF in its efforts to support Clinton County Conservation. Donations made through memorial funds offer the reward of clear and direct participation for the donor in the conservation of our natural resources.

These donations can come in several forms such as assets, in kind donations such as stocks, grain, etc., or cash subject to board approval. Cash, is the most common type of memorial donation that is received by the CCCF and is appreciated regardless of the amount given. If an in-kind donation is received it will be arranged to liquidate these assets as soon as is administratively possible. The CCCF believes it is important to recognize the contributions that are made in memoriam by families for their generous donations. The CCCF will provide appropriate acknowledgement of the contributions that are made often in the form of a physical recognition to the family in honor of their loved one’s passion for conservation in Clinton County. First and foremost this is done with a thank you letter from the Board of Directors recognizing the contribution that has been made. Depending on what projects and/or services the contribution is used for, other recognitions such as memorial plaques, signs, and markers may be used in the manner that best displays recognition and conforms to the policies put in place by the Clinton County Conservation Board.
